The Agape South Sudan Initiative (ASSI), in partnership with Marburger Organization, has concluded a three-day workshop for musicians and song creators at St. Mary’s Girls High School in the Episcopal Diocese of Aweil.

Participants from dioceses across the Northern Bahr El Ghazal Internal Province composed 29 new songs inspired by the workshop themes. Fourteen of the 29 songs have been selected for recording, with the remaining songs to follow.

The workshop was officially closed by Rt. Rev’d Abraham Ngor Mangong of the Episcopal Diocese of Gogrial, together with ASSI Founder Mr. William Majok, Rev’d Mathias Scheitacker, Rev’d Henrik Ermlich, Rev’d Canon Samuel Baak Diing, Rev’d Zechariah Dut, and other church leaders.

Participants also received certificates of participation in recognition of their commitment and successful completion of the training. Some participants departed earlier on 10th Sept, while others remained in Aweil to continue recording and will leave today, Friday, for their respective destinations.

The workshop marks an important step in nurturing music and ministry in South Sudan. What song from this workshop are you most looking forward to hearing?
