Greening South Sudan: ASSI’s Afforestation Effort
Restoring the environment is one of the most meaningful ways to protect our communities and secure a healthier future for generations to come. Through its afforestation initiative, Agape South Sudan Initiative (ASSI) is working with volunteers, churches, and local leaders to plant trees, promote environmental awareness, and revive areas affected by deforestation.
This program focuses on planting indigenous trees, teaching communities how to care for young seedlings, and encouraging families to participate in long-term environmental stewardship. By planting trees, we reduce soil erosion, improve air quality, support local biodiversity, and create cooler, safer spaces for children and families.
The initiative also provides an opportunity to educate communities about climate resilience, sustainable land use, and the importance of caring for God’s creation. Each tree planted is a step toward healing the land and restoring hope.
Your support whether through donations, volunteering, or community partnerships helps us expand this work and green more regions across South Sudan. Together, we can build a healthier environment and a brighter future for all.
